Watercolors and More RR Pages

I've been pretty busy the last few days and haven't done much with art except look thru some of my new books to decide on a new "masters" project. I've narrowed it down, but no decision, yet. So, I thought I would share a couple of watercolors I did some time ago. I took reference photos in a local greenhouse, then painted them in the studio. They were hung in a solo exhibit I had a few years ago, and I sold both of them. I have a hard time letting go of my paintings sometimes, and yet, I also have a nice feeling knowing they are "living" someplace where they are appreciated. We are complicated little beings, aren't we?
Also, as promised, here are 2 more spreads from my RR book. The scans don't do these lovely pages justice, but then I guess they never do! The first one is done by Bonnie Linhart, and the second is done by Cheryl Wrede. Aren't they beautiful?

The watercolors are beautiful. I also love the pages, especially the little paper birds. Each page is beautiful but each has a very unique look. Very nice work
Your watercolors are beautiful and love seeing the white journal pages!
I can see why you would have a hard time giving these up,The first one looks like the plants are so alive, great colors.I like your RR pages, but the one about prayer spoke to me.Thanks so much for your visit and comment on my blog.
Those watercolors are beautiful. It is hard to part with something we've created. But, it's also good to know someone else loved them enough to purchase them. Nice journal pages also.
Lovely watercolors - the second is my favorite - great colors and composition.
I completely understand that feeling of "letting go" of a painting/piece of art. It's like parting with your firstborn child every time! Well... maybe not that dramatic - but certainly our work is a little piece of our soul. These watercolors are stunning, fantastic!!!
I see why these paintings sold. I am especially partial to the first one - impressionistic, love the watercolor blend in the middle, the loose strokes in the plant in the front, and the way you let light seep through the plants at the bottom left. Adept use of watercolors for sure!
Oh beautiful flowers, great work !
I love your greenhouse paintings. You captured the diffused light of a greenhouse really well, and the compositions are great.
Gorgeous watercolors, I really love the first one.
Great greenhouse paintings, love the colours
Lovely greenhouse paintings. I like the loose aspect !
I wouldn't have wanted to part with those greenhouse watercolours either- they are gorgeous!
I love the wc, specially the second one.
What is a RR book?
Such lovely sensitive watercolors Nancy! Beautiful (amd the book is amazing).
I can see why these sold - beautiful paintings!
I love the greenhouse painting, such lush, loose color! No wonder you had a hard time parting with it.
Letting go is certainly difficult, and not only with art! Both watercolors are beautiful but my favorite is the second one. Thank you for the kind comments you leave on my blog!
Beautiful watercolors, very impressive both of them.
Who's the next winner for being picked after Rubens?
the watercolors are lovely, and what great RR pages!! Very nice!
:)
It helps to be able to look at a photo of pictures you don't have anymore though, doesn't it? I love your two paintings and can see why they sold. Your pages in your journal are great too.
I love the journal pages. This is something I am trying to get into right now. Yours are wonderful!
Check out the award I left for you on my blog!
Nancy, these are wonderful paintings! Thanks for posting some retro artwork. It's nice to see progression over time, isn't it?
