Noses EDM 65

I spent a good bit of today at the doctor and running errands, then came home and did some much-needed laundry, changing sheets, etc.   The time I had for drawing was limited, so I  only did 2 noses .... well, 1 nose and 1 nose with bit of a face attached.  For me noses are a challenge in part because they don't really have many lines the way eyes do - they seem to mostly be formed by shadows and inference.  Proportion and placement are also hard for me, which is why I decided to do one with a face.  I'll do more of them, but for now, it's a start!

Nancy,

You put me to shame. These look like you've been drawing noses all your life.

Wow! I'm quite impressed.

Oooo... I like his face. He looks like someone you'd like to talk with in a coffee shop

Nancy,
The noses look great. I especially like the one on the bottom - it has such character.

Well who would ever guess noses are hard for you. These are super! Do 100 more and I'll bet they'll be a piece of cake to do. (Mind you, I haven't drawn any like this myself but ...)

Interesting looking man - well done! They are tricky - I find it helps if you break it down into basic shapes - this tutorial looks helpful:

Well done...the sfumo technique on the top one is very good. This portrait is terrific, Nancy - what a great face! Noses are so critical, and so tough. Good job!

Not only have you done some great noses here, but you've begun a fantastic portrait on the bottom...all the parts are proportionate and seem to be in the correct place! I don't think you'll have any problems at all with portraiture!

Excellent! You're right too. they are mostly shadows. The face kind of reminds me of Sam Waterston. Great job, Nanke!

Your drawing is really beautifully renderded---the nose is longer than the original--if you check it out with a teacher's eye, you'll see this--your infomation about yourself sounds so much like me, I don't feel so lonesome.. I will visit your blog often......Winna
