In an effort to do something with art every day, no matter how small, today I did another Everyday Matters drawing.  This is a sketch of a small pitcher (only 3 inches high!), that's been in my husband's family forever.  I love it because it's quirky and fun.  It sits in our bedroom on a shadowbox that hangs on the wall (along with the horse button from a previous post).

I'm not thrilled with how the drawing came out, but to be perfectly honest, I got tired of fussing with it.  Also, my electric pencil sharpener that I was using to sharpen my colored pencils kept breaking the lead in them, causing me to have to take it apart and clean it out.  It proved to be more annoying than it should have been (I needed more patience which I probably would have had if the drawing had been going better!).  So, in the spirit of honesty, here is a so-so drawing of a really cute pitcher.

I wouldn't call it so so; I think it is quite cute.

I do understand the frustration of lead breaking in a pencil sharpener.

VERY quirky! Is it a pitcher for a left-handed person? You've captured the very delicate nature of the porcelain.

Well as frustrating as it was, you still finished it. Yay! You still did a good job. Yay! And, you are not letting the block you've been in win! You are really doing great and it says more when a frustrating evening doesn't do you in. It's a cute pitcher too.

Very cute! It's hard to draw tiny things, especially with the added frustration of breaking pencils--I hate that!

It's cute despite the frustration.

I like it! It looks unique, and I love how you lined the shape and all the finer details of it. =) I think there's always a certain level of frustration involved in all creations, it's probably part of the process as well I believe, but in the end...it's always satisfying and you could always tell too by how people respond to them.

It is still a beautiful sketch of a priceless to you heirloom. It has a lot of charm to it. Good work.

It's a terrific pitcher! Would it be a creamer of some sort? It looks like the liquid pours out of the mouth. Sorry about the colored pencils, I know it's frustrating! Someone told me it can happen if you drop the pencil because the leads break on the inside.

I actually think it's a really cute drawing of a really cute picture! I love the soft quality of it. I have some pure graphite pencils with no wood on the outside, and I would constantly drop them and they would break in half - this would happen over and over again - until finally they would vanish! Poof! So the other day I bought a drawing pencil with wood on the outside. Good riddance!
