Greenhouse and Giveaway Update

Well, I haven't heard from Sabine, the winner of the giveaway yet, and I've tried contacting her without success, so if I haven't heard from her by tonite, I'm going to draw again and give the book to someone else. I'm sorry to have to do that, but this is the 3rd day since I announced the winner, and I'd really like someone to have this book! So, Sabine, if you're out there, please contact me!
On another note, because spring is almost here (yippee!!), I thought I'd share another watercolor painting I did of a greenhouse. It's another one that I sold a few years back. This one is the "Geranium House" at one of our local flower centers. I have a hard time restraining myself when I'm there seeing all the beautiful flowers. All too often I come home with what seems like just a few plants when I'm buying them, only to find out they multiplied in the car when I got down on my knees to plant them (the little devils!).

LOL, hey, I will take it, ;)
At first I thought that was a photo ... but you painted it right? Beautiful!
WOW! The geranium house is BEYOND gorgeous!! Lovely beyond words. I know, I know, I sound like I am blathering because I am!
I though it was a photo too! It really is beyond words.
Wow! It is a lot like looking at a photo. Yummy!
And I know what you mean about that multiplying in the trunk.
xoxo
I too thought it was a photo, until I clicked on it for a larger view. WOW!! Your composition is striking and your sense of color is wonderful. I really like how you restrained yourself from over coloring- and keeping so much light. I feel like you truly captured a moment in time. LOVELY!
Oh, you really nailed the depth and colors!
wow...great values with your greens!
You have me all excited about spring flowers now! I have never seen a watercolor of a greenhouse like you did -- it's beautiful and so evocative of the real thing... Well done!
Your painting makes me feel impatient for the flowers to bloom... I love the choice and mix of greens, the depth and perspective, great job!
You are too funny.....I think it's the plant fairy!
Well, that's what I tell myself and I never fib!
Luv the painting...I'd definitely make room on my wall for that one!!
I must go see if I can find mine...

just beautiful. I like the impressionistic feel to this.
This is a really pretty picture. It's no wonder it sold!
What a great painting! Beautiful comp.
I must say Nancy, this is MARVELOUS! The perspective is magnificent and the colors have so much depth. It's just gorgeous!
This is beautiful Nancy - lovely colours, lots of light and deep perspective.
The place must be great and your painting is gorgeous!
Really good, I love the original composition.
That is just stunning! I love it!
Wow. You did an outstanding job. When I first saw it, I thought "she must have taken a picture to paint from" then... wow. That IS the painting. Simply beautiful.
Wow!! Gorgeous. You definitely did an awesome job on this picture. Thanks for sharing it with us.
And thanks for all the sweet comments you have left on my blog. They are much appreciated.
This is a lovely painting, I particularly like the hanging plants with their trailing leaves. You can almost smell the geraniums!
This is gorgeous! I love the texture of the foliage and the light on the leaves!
Lovely values and perfect delicate touch in the florals and greenery. Mine tends to run together all in one blob.
I love this watercolour.
A friend and I are going to the Melbourne Botanical Gardens to draw next week. I was just wondering what to take - I think I'll be bringing my watercolour :)
Hi Nancy, not sure why you'd be fearful of picking up a paintbrush when you can do watercolours like this one--beautiful tones and you've captured the light airy atmosphere.
You left a comment on my site a few weeks back and in the flurry of trying to work out this whole blogging thing (just new here!) I didn't thank you. I'm now following ... Jenine :)
