Another drawing

This is a picture I copied from a National Geographic Magazine. It isn't a "quick sketch", nor is it a marathon drawing. It's sort of in between the two. I spent the day today cleaning the house (ugh), and it left little time for drawing. So, I decided that rather than embark on some new project (i.e., another Master's copy or my "timed sketch" experiment), I'd just do what felt comfortable, which is to just sit down and draw. This is my one and only version of her .... no going back to correct or improve. I'm not happy with her nose, but then, I'm not that happy with my nose either! So, here she is, imperfections and all .....

It's a lovely portrait!
Great job, you captured some character. She looks pensive to me.
Love the hair. She looks pensive to me. Good job.
Hi Nancy
Good that you managed to finish a drawing even tho you had a busy day. I like her - she's got an engaging gaze. nice drawing.
Have a nice weekend, Ev
She's just fine! Nose is fine - I like your drawing. Thanks for your comment on my blog about those daffodils in the stained glass light. And cleaning is overrated - such a nuisance - go ahead and draw!
I like this - very evocative!
she's in deep thought...great shadowing!
Lovely sketch Nancy!
I really like this drawing. The expression on her face is so real - like I just told a bad joke and she's reacting to it as a young girl would. I think you have learned a bit already from your Masters drawings and it shows in this one!
I think you captured her expression and gave her some character too. Well done!
I think you have done an excellent job on this drawing!!
This turned out really nice. Who doesn't have a wonky nose really? What I have found is everyone is a little off on one side of the face. My sister used to say we are formed in two halves and they don't quite match!
Intriguing expression. Nice going.
Very nice job--even her nose. She has a lot of personality. Now I need to go clean house too but I plan to reward myself with some sketching time later.
What a wonderful expression she has - and the shading is great.
Excellent job! I think I have that magazine, she looks very familiar! I think you've caught her expression very well!
Really good work. I stand in awe.
a compelling character with beautiful eyes
A beautiful and sensitive portrait. I clicked to see it bigger and glad I did!
This is a wonderful sketch!
What a wonderful drawing! Her face has such an introspective, mysterious, Mona Lisa expression.
Thank you for the sympathy and tea on my blog!!
Nancy
I like her quite a bit, even her nose.
And, what is wrong with your nose?
xoxo
A beautiful rendering Nancy! I admire your continuing dedication to learning the marvelous art of drawing. Excellent! And I love her nose.
FANTASTIC! Really nicely drawn portrait Nancy =)
You really did a great job on this one too!
A very pretty portrait. And I love her nose!
